I have had a look into how to capture both the movement of my eye and my monitor to show what I am playing. I will film my eye with my video camera. I have found a piece of software called fraps that can record my screen while I play my games. This will allow me to simultaneously record both the game and my eye movements. After some initial testing I have found that City of Heroes, being a five year old game, is almost unaffected by fraps recording. However Team Fortress 2 is dramatically affected by being recorded. I will have to lower some of the video setting in the game to reduce this. With fraps running Team Fortress 2 was reduced to running at 10 to 15 fps (frames per second) which would ruin the results.

I have now finalised my 4D project. Gaming is my main hobby and it has always interested me as a subject matter. After hearing about my friends projects, it gave me an idea for mine. I have decided to show how my eye moves through space over time as I am playing games. I will record my eye while I play different games to see how the movement differs between different types of games. I think it will be interesting to see how differently my eye moves in an FPS (first person shooter) like Team Fortress 2

and how it moves during an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) like City of Heroes.
